REVIEW

REFLECT

√ Do a quick mental scan of your home and write down some of the plastic products found in your kitchen. Do you use plastic to store food, or heat food in the microwave?

REVIEW

Another health concern in the kitchen is non-stick cookware and utensils.

√ Watch this 1+ minute video to learn why these items expose us to toxic chemicals.

√ Now that you understand some of the reasons to avoid plastic and nonstick in the kitchen, watch this 7+ minute video to learn about alternatives you can use.

IDENTIFY AND COMMIT

Reflect on your food and drink storage, the type of cookware and utensils you use, the type of food and drink you buy, and how you clean your oven.

√ Identify one thing you could change in each of these areas to reduce your exposure to harmful chemicals in the kitchen.

√ Commit to making those changes. Be specific. For example:

  • How will you store your food and drink?
  • What do you need to do to make that change?
  • What type of cookware and utensils will you purchase, and where will you source them?

Think through the changes that are most important to you and devise a strategy to achieve them.

Tomorrow, we’ll look at how to choose safe cleaning products for your home. Be sure to check your inbox!
