Chronic low-dose exposure to glyphosate results in liver and kidney damage in rats

Results of a study by Mesnage et al, published in the journal Environmental Health, suggest that chronic exposure to a glyphosate-based herbicides (such as Roundup) given to rats at an ultra-low environmental dose can result in liver and kidney damage.  Since glyphosate is the most commonly used herbicide in the world and has been shown to be present in many foods, these findings have potentially significant health implications for animal and human populations.
