The data around the role of aluminum and specifically the role of aluminium in antiperspirants with respect to breast cancer has been unclear.  However it does appear that applying aluminum-containing antiperspirant after shaving does greatly increase absorption, and aluminum has been found in high concentrations in breast tumors in the upper quadrant of the breast, near the armpit.  See this video by Dr. Michael Greger for a summary of the research.
