Calorie restriction is not effective for weight loss

A study published in Nutrition, Metabolism, and Cardiac Diseases that reviewed studies on weight loss highlighted these conclusions:

* Normal Weight and Overweight Obesity are prevalent.
• Seven trials were found that aimed to reduce adiposity in adults with normal or overweight obesity.
• High intensity interval training & high dietary protein were most effective at reducing body fat.
• Energy restriction and prolonged intermittent fasting had the least promising effect.
• Calorie-restriction had high loss of fat and lean mass, resulting in low reductions in % body fat.
