In a study by Liu et al, published in the journal Oncology Research, researchers found that extract of cloves displayed anti-tumor activity both in vitro (in a test tube) and in vivo (in mice). Clove extract may represent a novel therapeutic herb for cancer treatment, and oleanolic acid (found in clove extract) is one of the components responsible for part of its anti-tumor activity.
Herbs and spices generally have been found to have anti-tumor and anti-inflammatory properties.
