A meta-analysis by Zhang et al, published in the journal Mutation Research, found that the risk of Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) increased 41% in those exposed to the herbicide glyphosate (most commonly associated with the brand name Roundup). Roundup is the most widely-used pesticide in the world.
The authors concluded that “Overall, in accordance with findings from experimental animal and mechanistic studies, our current meta-analysis of human epidemiological studies suggests a compelling link between exposures to GBHs [glyphosate-based herbicides] and increased risk for NHL.”

GBH residues in food persist long after initial treatment and are not lost during baking. Exposures occur primarily through consumption of contaminated food, but may also occur through contact with contaminated soil, dust, and by drinking or bathing in contaminated water.
Controversy continues concerning the relative toxicity of glyphosate. Juries have awarded billions of dollars to individuals who claimed their cancer was due to prolonged exposure to Bayer/Monsanto’s Roundup. Thousands of lawsuits are pending. This website keeps track of all the claims and award payments that have been made in Roundup lawsuits.
