Benzophenone is used in personal care products such as lipstick, nail polish, foundation, fragrance, shampoo, conditioner, and hair spray to protect the products from UV light.  Derivatives of benzophenone are also common ingredients in sunscreen.  Benzophenone is persistent, bioaccumulative, and toxic.  This class of chemicals is linked to cancer, endocrine disruption, and organ toxicity.  Read more here.
